Budget Highlights

  • Crushing approx. 25,000 yards of gravel

  • Purchase of a new 160M AWD CAT Grader

  • Clay capping/building two miles of a backroad for better access

  • Contract working including mulching, spraying of noxious weeds and removing stones from roads

  • Transferring $50,000 to Fire Capital Reserve in anticipation of future needs for the Whitewood Fire Department

  • Transferring $100,000 to the Capital Reserve fund to replace funds used the last two years to cover an operating deficit

  • 14% increase to Ag taxes and 3% increase to commercial (Residential unchanged)

    • Prior to this increase Silverwood Ag taxes were half of the average when comparing to nine other R.M.'s in this area

    • This increase equates to around $30 to $70 per quarter depending on the assessment and Silverwood will still be the lowest of any of these R.M.'s and still much below average
